British fashion awards 2010

Hey there fashion junkies, here's a round up of the 2010 British fashion awards.
Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen (a fitting outfit for the night, not only did she win an award but also presented and paid tribute to McQueen for the outstanding achievement award )
Hats off to you Naomi for mentioning that there are not enough models of colour in fashion, these designers (and fashion magazine editors for that matter) need to pull their finger out and realise the world is in beautiful Technicolor! Also well done for winning the special recognition award, a whooping 25years in fashion.

Alexa Chung in Chanel.
Our dear style queen picked up the award for the most stylish person ever lool I mean this year. She always seems to get it so right, take the picture below for instance love the ombre hair, love the spring 2011 Chanel dress with feathers and chunky Prada, ticks all the right boxes. What do you think of this outfit?

Daisy Lowe in Ellie Saab.
I’m not a huge fan of the Goth look but Miss Lowe is working it here and I like the fact that she went quite minimalistic on the accessories.

Oh Claudia Winkleman you got it oh so right with the look but soooooo wrong with the tan. Her makeup looks so caked on it’s hard to recognise her.
Put down your tan bottles people its winter and if that’s just an unbearable thought try to make it look natural, think winter sun tan instead of orange peel tan!

I know him as the hottie in the D&G adverts you may know him as the delightful David Gandy.  Sadly he lost out to Lara Stone for the model of the year award but we can still appreciate his modelling talents. (Enjoy the picture)

Hahaha you’ll enjoy the next picture I swear. You know when you pose for a picture, your mind is telling you ‘hey man look at me, I’m sexy’  but your pose isn’t quite there yet? that’s why I LOVE this Nicholas Kirkwood’s pose it’s so……..well me in photos. Well done Mr Kirkwood for winning accessories designer of the year award

Henry Holland and Charlotte Olympia Dellal looking ab fab. I’m loving the retro feel of this look (anyone wish these two were a couple, just for the sheer fashion factor….no? ah well just me then)

And the winner goes to…..
Brand of the Year: Mulberry. This has been an amazing year for the Mulberry brand and this award must have been such a nice pat on the back.
Designer of the Year: Phoebe Philo for CĂ©line. This one was a toughie I would have been happy with either Celine or Erdem.
Digital Innovation: Burberry
And finally BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion goes to ALEXANDER MCQUEEN. And rightly so!

  1. Woo I haven't read up on the results of BFA and this is a great summary! I'm still a little baffled as to how one picks most stylish person but I guess it's all got to do with hypes in the blogs... We should seriously start hyping about someone completely ordinary and see if that works.

Designer of the Year to Phoebe Philo is so deserved!

  2. you don't think alexa should've have won it? I think she changed the direction of fashion in the uk, i see ppl copying her style all the time. I understand what your saying, but with the rise of the blog many 'ordinary' ppl get their limelight.
Shall we try to take over the blog world :)
    (thanx for stopping by)

  3. Naomi is for sure the best dressed one that evening. Still years after her gold 90s time, she looks stunning. ;)
